A short PSA

Sophia here,
So yesterday I built kappa skeleton 1 of 4. I did all of it with my bare hands and wire cutters. This was a bad idea. Bending and manipulating wire with your bare hands is quite painful.  Today my fingers are bruised and tender. Use needlenose pliers when working with wire.

December 11th Progress Update

Skeleton for the Kappa Yokai!
Today we purchased the magnets, foam, and super sculpey clay to craft the remainder of the models. We raised money from the indiegogo campaign, including a bake sale and some generous donations made directly to us. We have some money remaining to work with, but we anticipate we'll need a little more... so I've just launched the 2nd indiegogo campaign. It can be found here

Thank you so much to everyone who donated during our last campaign, we are very excited to get this rolling.

Exciting stuff from the week of December 4.

Hello, it's Sophia again,
On Friday, Monica and I went to our local Jo-Ann fabric store to get supplies.  We now have all the wire we need, and Monica has stuff to make an armchair.

Friday night was Art  Walk in Portland ME, and the clip from MMW was shown.

Saturday,  I designed all the armatures, and began designing the outer bodies as well.

Rubia has a twitter now! You can follow her @rubia_baxter.

Maine Media Workshop Final Product

Sophia here!
During the first two months of the school year, we took part in a class at Baxter taught by Ana Foy from Maine Media Workshop.  The goal of the class was to have a cinematic scene written, shot, and produced.  The scene we shot was a short live action clip of Rubia packing things into moving boxes(which will be opened in the actual film).  Monica composed original music for the scene, and I finished the final edit last night!  Both the rough cut and the final cut are now on our YouTube channel for your watching pleasure.
